Kristin who had the issue with the Pill Pockets recently spoke with someone from Nutro and was told that they are using a new
kind of duck protein so they said the "gamey" smell is stronger and the pale yellow color is what they now look like. So I guess
this is now normal for this product if you should get some and notice these changes.

The Texas Veterinary Cancer Registry (TVCR) is a Texas-based animal care network and registry formed to identify, register,
facilitate and promote the medical treatment of pets with cancer. The Texas Veterinary Cancer Registry aims to advance
veterinary cancer research and to create connections between researchers, veterinarians and owners of pets with naturally-
occurring disease that could provide the critical data to someday help eliminate cancer as we know it. By including your pet in
this database of animals with cancer we will gain important information regarding common cancers in our pet populations. Such
information will be useful for applying new treatments to dogs and cats and for better understanding the progression of these life-
threatening diseases. Improved understanding of the similarities and differences between cancer in our pets and cancer in
humans may help improve treatment in both humans and pets.

As most of you know, the Sketchers ad aired during the Super Bowl regardless of the THOUSANDS of signatures collected to
demand it be stopped. But we did bring a huge amount of awareness to the problem of Greyhound abuse and in the end I guess
that’s the best we can ask for. We did make an impact, that’s important.

As quickly as I put Nature’s Variety Boost Bites treats on my site, I’m removing them. I SWEAR that when I read the ingredients
when it first came out, there was no spinach listed on that site. I swear it! I just got the Venison ones I ordered and low and
behold, spinach. Needless to say I am not happy! So they are gone off my safe list. Sigh.

FINALLY!!!! Some good news about food safety. This is very interesting and I hope with all hope it takes off:

Seeing Clearly: Identifying New Causes and Treatments for Feline Conjunctivitis
www.morrisanimalfoundation.org/blog/category/cat/seeing-clearly-identifying-treatment-feline-conjunctivitis.html

This does not make me happy at all. People are loving their pets to death! Pet parents are not waking up and it’s a big mistake.
Their pet’s life span is severely shortened and they are miserable, when the parents think they’re fat and happy. We need to work
on spreading the word about this. Please if you’re in a forum and you see this kind of issue, find a tactful way to bring up the
subject and explain to them this is not right. Direct them to my site and let them know my Alex died because of all the problems
she developed due to obesity. They do NOT want their babies to suffer like she did. And like I will always suffer in my heart
because of what happened. Even more disturbing is some of the idiotic comments below including one with a recipe that
includes THREE onions and some garlic cloves! OMG, I could just scream!
Obesity epidemic strikes U.S. pets
The majority of adult dogs and cats in U.S. homes are overweight or obese, and the problem has gotten worse over the past
year, according to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention. Fifty-three percent of adult dogs and 55% of cats were classified
as overweight or obese by their veterinarians.

issue of your cat driving you nuts at night and not letting you sleep. I’ve been sleeping great all week because of this, scroll down

Entirely pets is having a sale today for Valentine’s day, Feliway spray and the regular plugins plus other items. You can get 10%
off any purchase today of anything. If you go through my site use coupon code Use Coupon Code LOVEMYPETS. And don’t
forget even if you don’t buy what I have recommended on my site you can click on any of their links anyway and just get whatever
you want and still use the coupon.

Only Natural Pets is having a 20% off treats sale today as well so if you’ve been wanting to order some of the treats on my site
from them, today is the day to do it! They’re also having a 20% overstocked and sale items which ends on the 29th of this month.

I’ve got a few new tips & tricks that I’ve added to the site. I had bought some George’s Pure Distilled Aloe Vera by Warren Labs
for Midnight to help her digestive system. But I found that it also helps their skin and fur. For skin reactions, allergies, lesions,
sores and dry skin and fur, put some in a spray bottle and spray the fur a little bit, rub it into the skin and fur. You’ll find this product
on this page: http://ibdkitties.net/Antiinflammatories.html.

Thanks to Carol for this tip which I’ve been using with Midnight now for months, it really works! She has chronic UTIs that were not
getting better despite being on Baytril for almost a month. A few days of this treatment it was gone. Now I give it to her just a few
times per week as a maintenance dose: For UTIs, bladder and other urinary problems, use NOW Foods brand D-Mannose
powder. I recommend this brand because it's 100% pure D-Mannose, vegetarian and no fillers. Using a tiny measuring spoon,
measure 1/8th of the powder and use equal parts water, if not a little bit more. Can be added to food, or syringed into the mouth.
This product works because it naturally helps by sticking to "undesirable" foreign substances, preventing them from
sticking to the lining of the bladder. D-Mannose can be found on this page: http://ibdkitties.net/Antiinflammatories.html. And the
measuring spoons I use are Amco Measuring Spoons which are found on this page:
http://ibdkitties.net/Helpfultools.html. There
are no measurements on the spoons but someone figured them out to be: 1/8th, 1/16th, 1/32th and 1/64th.

If anyone is feeding Evanger’s dog food or even cat food please either bring it back or check the cans. Tina just sent me this
from Canada, it was on the news just last night there. When you come to the page, click on the video that says Dangerous Dog
Food:

This was on our local news last night. Women finds 3 metal tags in Evangers Canned chicken dog food, better be safe
and check your canned cat food too. See the story here. The store has pulled the cans. I can’t find anything about a major recall
on the net? hmm!!
www.cheknews.ca/index.php?option=com_content&view=frontpage&Itemid=136

I’m seeing nothing at all about this but since it’s in Canada and was just telecast last night, who knows if the US will even get a
heads up about it! But this product CAME FROM Chicago in the U.S. The part of the video where they state that Evanger’s
doesn’t have any issues or safety problems is a load of bull. I’ve actually sent out newsletters in the past with warnings and
recalls. Please post this in your forums and spread it around! This is why I don’t have this brand on my site. I have their freeze
dried treats but that’s it. No food otherwise.

February 16, 2012
PLEASE don’t shoot the messenger. I don’t know what to tell everyone about pet food anymore, I really don’t. I’m just as sick of it,
and sick about it as all of you are. My advice is to get good and mad and call or email the companies that have all these
problems. I know you guys are just venting your frustrations but you need to do it to the people who cause these issues. I can’t do
anything to stop it from happening again. I also think if you can get your pets to eat home cooked food if you learn how to prepare
it, then that’s the best option at this point.

The foods list is growing smaller and smaller, if I keep removing everything from the list the pages will be blank. Now I have found
out that Orijen contains spinach and so does the NV raw medallions. So I’ve decided to put the spinach items back on the site
with a note stating that no kitty who has any kidney, gallbladder or thyroid problems should eat food containing spinach and why.
A pet with any of those 3 health issues should not be fed spinach at all. I suggest if you HAVE to feed it, rotate it with something
that doesn’t contain spinach and keep doing that as much as possible. Cooking does NOT diminish the oxalates much at all,
very minimally. The oxalates in spinach are very sturdy, binding and are around 600-750 content milligrams per 100 gram
serving. That’s one of the highest levels of oxalates in foods. You’d have to boil or blanch it to reduce it even 5-15% and then you’
ve lost all the nutrients in it. So then what’s the point of even including it in food?

With all the product issues lately, if you have an IBD kitty or one that will absolutely only eat something with spinach in it, I just don’
t know what else you would do. They HAVE to eat! And we know what a pain it can be getting them off a certain food. I’ve already
added this info on the foods page and it’ll have to be up to the parent until we can get this ingredient removed from the foods.
And I really do need you all to get on top of helping me do that. Take this week if you can and write to all these companies, now
including Orijen:
www.championpetfoods.com/contact/. I still would like them to remove spinach completely, that’s still the goal.

I’ve just emailed Evolve pet foods because one of their brands, Triumph cat foods, includes onion salt of all things in one of their
flavors!

I want to give condolences to Mariko who just lost her IBD kitty, Cecil to kidney failure. Very unexpected and made me very sad
to hear this news. Also sadly, another kitty on Catster has been killed by a neighbor’s dog. I really hate seeing that, it’s so awful. I
mention it because of what happened recently with another member’s cat. If you have to let your cat outside, be sure there are no
vicious neighborhood dogs around that can get loose!

But on a high note, Michele’s Chiquitita is one year seizure free today!!! I’m so happy for her! Congratulations!!
